Arlington Social Haus to Open in Courthouse; Velocity 5 to Close
Arlington Social Haus will be a 'modern beer garden' at 2300 Clarendon Blvd. in the Courthouse area.
A modern German beer garden is coming to the Courthouse area this summer in place of sports bar Velocity 5.
“We are going to renovate this place and make it brand new,” said co-owner Matt Rofougaran.
Rofougaran and the other owners purchased the business from Velocity 5's owners and are planning a total revamp of the space into what will be known as Arlington Social Haus Biergarten and Restaurant.

The focus will pivot to local beers, craft beers, and German beers. In all, they will offer 100 varieties of beer, 35 of them on tap.
“We are going to have a lot of beer events," Rofougaran said.

The interior of the restaurant at 2300 Clarendon Blvd. will be open concept, with long community picnic-style tables. They also want to expand the patio bar and include live entertainment.
The menu will shift to offering fresher ingredients, highlighting both traditional German cuisine and gluten-free offerings.
“The chef is working on the new menu as we speak,” Rofougaran said.
They hope to open the restaurant in mid-June. Updates will be posted on their Facebook and Twitter pages.
Velocity 5 will close for business in the next few weeks.
