Arlington Farmers Market Starts Prime Selling Hours Saturday

The farmers market takes place in the Courthouse area.

The Arlington Farmers Market is kicking into its prime season starting Saturday.

The market, which sets up at 1400 N. Courthouse Road, sells everything from fresh produce, to bison, pasta and flowers. The prime season hours are from 8 a.m. to noon each Saturday.

The market, one of seven in Arlington County, cuts back on hours during the winter months.

"The people who have been going there have been going there forever," said Arlington Parks and Recreation spokeswoman Susan Kalish. "It’s a cool community to get involved in. It's not just a place to buy food."

The market is welcoming a few new vendors this year, selling pickles, bakery items and shellfish. Virginia Cooperative Extension Master Gardeners will also be on hand to answer questions for those of you with a green thumb.
