Crime Report: Purse Snatching, Car Burglaries

The following information was reported by the Arlington County Police Department through Wednesday.

Top crime/public safety news of the week: The following incidents were reported Wednesday by the Arlington County Police Department: Robbery A woman walking home from the Ballston Metro Station had her purse snatched just before 10 p.m. Tuesday, according to police. The woman told police that she briefly chased the man before losing track of him. The robber was heavy set, approximately 5 feet, 8 inches tall, and bald.   Attempted Armed Robbery A sales clerk at Nordstrom’s jewelry department was held at gunpoint, according to police. The robber entered the store at 1400 S. Hayes St. at about 10 a.m. Friday. When the man pulled out a gun, the victim hit a panic alarm and the suspect fled without taking any merchandise. The man was described …

Crime Report: Laptops Stolen from a Business

The following arrest information was reported by the Arlington County Police Department.

The following incidents were reported by the Arlington County Police Department from Sept. 6 through Wednesday. Top stories: Clarendon/Courthouse/Rosslyn area: Burglary Laptops were stolen from a business sometime between 9 p.m. on Sept. 5 and 8:20 a.m. on Sept. 7. The business is located on the 2200 block of N. Clarendon Blvd., police said. Burglary Someone stole items from inside of a vehicle sitting in an impound lot. The burglary occurred between 5 p.m. on Sept. 3 and 8 a.m. on Sept. 4 on the 4200 block of S. 29th St., police said. Greater Arlington: Burglary Several medications went missing from a woman’s hotel room. The medications were taken sometime between 7:45 a.m. and 11:55 p.m. on Sept. 7 on the 1300 block of Jefferson Davis …
