Crime Report: Purse Snatching, Car Burglaries

Top crime/public safety news of the week: The following incidents were reported Wednesday by the Arlington County Police Department: Robbery A woman walking home from the Ballston Metro Station had her purse snatched just before 10 p.m. Tuesday, according to police. The woman told police that she briefly chased the man before losing track of him. The robber was heavy set, approximately 5 feet, 8 inches tall, and bald. Attempted Armed Robbery A sales clerk at Nordstrom’s jewelry department was held at gunpoint, according to police. The robber entered the store at 1400 S. Hayes St. at about 10 a.m. Friday.
