NCAA 2013 Tournament: East Regional Semifinals, Finals are at DC's Verizon Center. First round play starts Tuesday; tournament games start Thursday.
March Madness 2013 officially starts Tuesday and doesn’t end until the final buzzer of the last game on Monday, April 8. Here in Virginia, a number of men’s college basketball teams are "in the dance" – Virginia Commonwealth University (VCU), Liberty University, James Madison University (JMU) and, in DC, Georgetown. Here’s the official NCAA 2013 tournament bracket. When do Virginia and DC teams play? Future games will be based on who wins these first- and second-round matchups. East Regional Semifinals and Finals are in Washington, DC at the Verizon Center. The East Regionals are March 28 and March 30 at the Verizon Center in DC. Who cares about the ACC, Sweet 16 or Final Four when springtime is knocking at your door?!
Typically this time of year we're fed up with being trapped inside because of the cold and dreary weather, tired of shoveling snow, and so done with winter. That leads to indoor fun like NCAA basketball, St. Paddy's Day drink-a-thons, and well, good ol' fashioned adult activities. Luckily, this winter has been one of the mildest on record, and "cabin fever" has not been a problem. In fact, just the opposite. Folks seem to be suffering more from hay fever with all the budding, blooming and pollinating going on than anything else. With temps repeatedly reaching into the 70s, even the cherry blossoms are starting to pop. We've already had several days of shorts and T-shirt weather for our long dog walks/runs.
