Get Out: VETstravaganza, The Smithereens and More

The weekend is here! How are you going to spend it?

1. A Musical VETstravaganza When/Where: 3 p.m. Sunday at the Lisner Auditorium, George Washington University, 730 21st St. NW, Washington. Why Go: The free concert saluting veterans includes performances by, "The renowned 70-voice West Point Glee Club, along with the Washington, DC-based West Point Alumni Glee Club, the hot military quartet and Sony Music recording artists 4TROOPS," and others, according to the event notice. Price: Tickets for the concert are general admission and free of charge. 2. The Smithereens When/Where: Doors open at 7 p.m. Saturday at the State Theatre in Falls Church. The show starts at 9. Get Out: Concerts in the Park, Taste of Arlington and More

Concerts in the Park When/Where: Beginning at 5 p.m. Sunday at Volta Park, 1555 34th St. NW, Washington, D.C.  Why Go: This is the 10th year of Concerts in the Park and the 2012 season promises to be better than ever. Sunday, look for music from Georgetown’s own amazing singer and songwriter, Rebecca McCabe, plus balloons from Georgetown Patch, cupcakes from Sprinkles and much more!
