Barry Fig has been charged in Fairfax County and Montgomery County, Md.
Arlington County police say a man charged with credit card theft in Fairfax County and Montgomery County, Md., may have more victims in Arlington and are asking them to come forward. Barry Jason Fig was charged with five counts of felony credit card theft in March, according to Arlington police. The thefts occurred at the Kettler Capitals Iceplex in Ballston. Fig allegedly would enter unattended locker rooms and steal items from various equipment bags left there by recreational hockey players, according to police. He would then use them at retail stores, authorities say. Upon his arrest, police found several credit cards in Fig's possession that didn't belong to him — many belonged to victims from Kettler and other area ice rinks, …

The Ballston Business Improvement District will unveil the statues next month at the annual Taste of Arlington.
Want to have your picture taken with Washington Capitals team captain Alex Ovechkin, Washington Wizards point guard John Wall or D.C. United midfielder Chris Pontius? The Ballston Business Improvement District, or BID, wants to make that a reality — an augmented reality, actually. The BID will unveil a series of augmented reality statues at this year's Taste of Arlington, which will be from noon to 5 p.m. on May 19. The "statues" are actually 15-second video loops of Ovechkin, Wall or Pontius in different poses that can be accessed by downloading the BID's app and targeting one of the augmented reality markers. Hockey fans can see the Caps at Ballston's Kettler Capitals Iceplex.
The Washington Capitals are back, and hockey fans itching to get a look at the team before the season starts have their chance at Ballston’s Kettler Capitals Iceplex this week. Training camp, which is free and open to the public, lasts through Friday at the Iceplex at 627 N. Glebe Road, Suite 800, on the eighth level of the Ballston public parking garage. A special event is planned from 6 to 9 p.m. Thursday at the Verizon Center, where some Capitals players will answer fan questions, takes photos and sign autographs as part of Fan Appreciation Week.
