The Ballston farmers market is offering new vendors, live music and food sampling this season. The Ballston Business Improvement District, or BID, took over the market this summer. That paved the way for new vendors this year, said Allie Krafft, a spokeswoman for the BID. The vendors were chosen by Fresh Farm Markets, which promotes local food in the Chesapeake Bay region. All of their vendors sell only locally grown products. "You want to have the right product mix — one conventional grower, one organic, bread, cheese, some specialty items," said Juliet Glass of the Fresh Farm Market.
