Sign-Ups Open for 'Listen to Your Mother' Show Auditions
The 'Listen to Your Mother' show is a live-reading of essays on motherhood. The show takes place in Crystal City.
Auditions for the “Listen to Your Mother” show, where participants write and read aloud original essays on motherhood, are coming up soon. “The audience relates to the motherhood stories and hears perspectives they had never considered before,” said Kate Coveny Hood, producer for the DC region’s version of the show. The live reading in celebration of Mother's Day will take place at Crystal City’s Synetic Theater in April. There are about two dozen versions of the show nationwide. Hood, who lives in Reston, said that she organized the regional "Listen to Your Mother" reading after being inspired by a Wisconsin blogger Ann Imig who founded the event.
