Board Approves Apartment Building Across from Ballston Common Mall

The Crimson on Glebe will replace existing Goodyear building.

The Arlington County Board on Saturday unanimously approved plans to develop a six-story apartment building across the street from Ballston Common Mall. The Crimson on Glebe will replace the existing Goodyear building and an adjacent single-family home at the corner of North Glebe and North Carlin Springs roads. The building, at 650 N. Glebe Road, will be within walking distance to the Ballston Metro Station. The 139,000-square-foot structure will include 163 apartments and 2,200 square feet of ground-level retail space. Garfield Park Finally Kicks Off Construction

The Garfield park residential project is finally getting off the ground after years delay.

After many years of delay, the Garfield Park residential project in Clarendon has finally broken ground. Several years ago, you could drive by the intersection of 10th St and Washington Blvd and see a sign announcing Garfield Park 'Coming Spring 2007' while the site was still occupied by a CVS and Sala Thai restaurant. Originally conceived as condos, the project is now slated to be rental apartments. The mixed-use building is located at 2900 N. 10th Street (& Washington Blvd) in Clarendon, just three blocks from the Clarendon metro. Rosslyn Commons Construction to Begin Soon

Rosslyn Commons is a new mixed-use project from the JBG companies. It will consist of two towers and 24 townhomes. Delivery is expected in 2012.

Rosslyn Commons is a new mixed-use project coming to Rosslyn in the near future. The eight brick,  low-rise apartment buildings have been cleared from the site and the vacant lot is ready for groundbreaking. Construction is expected to start soon to meet the expected 2012 delivery date. The plans call for two high rise residential towers with 454 total units and over 12,000 square feet of retail space. The site will also include 25 four-story townhomes. Both residential towers boast rooftop pools and decks, and rooftop club rooms and fitness centers. The developer, JBG, is in talks to bring a cafe with outdoor seating into the retail space. JBG is watching the market closely and is still undecided as to whether one of the residential …
