Four men were charged in the robbery of a 7-Eleven on South King Street in Arlington.
Three men robbed a 7-Eleven store on Christmas Day, making off with cash, cigarettes, beer and chips, according to the Arlington County Police Department. A fourth person waited in a nearby parked car during the robbery, which occurred at 1:35 a.m. Tuesday at the store, 4689 S. King St., police reported. The four men were caught by Virginia State Police and transported to Arlington. Loren Curtis Wright Jr., 27, of Alexandria, was charged with robbery, use of a firearm in the commission of a crime and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon. Alan Darrell Jones Jr., 22, of Temple Hills, Md., Oheneba Osei Tutu, 18, of Alexandria, and Castan Emanuel Gordon Jr., 19, of Lorton, were charged with robbery and conspiracy to commit robbery. …

Monday is free Slurpee day at thousands of 7-Eleven locations in celebration of today’s date, July 11 (or 7/11).
The drink has been giving people brain freezes since the late 1950s. 7-Eleven entered into a licensing agreement with ICEE 1967, and renamed the beverage to sell it exclusively at 7-Eleven stores. This month, 7-Eleven is releasing a new flavor, Alienade, in collaboration with the movie “Cowboys & Aliens,” which will hit theaters July 29. Alienade is a combination of strawberry, raspberry and lemonade. There are also multiple collector’s cups available for purchase through the promotion. 7-Eleven this summer also released a “MixMaker Straw” device for Slurpee consumers.
