A handful of Northern Virginia natives are playing in college football bowl games on New Year's Day. If you watch Wisconsin and Stanford face off in the Rose Bowl today, be on the lookout for Stanford's Alex Carter (No. 25), who graduated from Ashburn's Briar Woods High School. Stanford Quarterback Kevin Hogan (No. 8) of McLean graduated from Gonzaga College High School in Washington, and Stanford Safety Cason Kynes (No. 41) of Annandale graduated from Annandale High School. Reilly Madden of Vienna is a member of the South Carolina Gamecocks, who play Michigan in the Outback Bowl today. Madden is a graduate of Paul VI Catholic High School in Fairfax.
