But we can get stoned now, makes perfect sense !! You could always just drive like responsibleRead More people and keep your speed safe, there are thousands of people missing limbs or worse wishing they never were involved in a crash by either there own fault or the result of some balloon knot, Thanks for keeping us safe officers

Vincent Careatti, I see your posts and they are either about I-66 or Route 7. it seems you get offRead More the I-66 to get onto local roads when I-66 backs up. Does that make you want to use cut through and speed? Sounds like it to me. I want the police to keep an eye on you. Because of your cut through driving, you make it very unsafe for my neighbors children, the elderly and myself. Stay on your I-66 commuter traffic route and stay the heck out of places you don't belong. You are making things worst being there. You are the traffic many people don't want driving in their neighborhoods. You don't live there, don't visit or do business there, so you just don't belong there.

Part of the problem is the length of the traffic cycles. Miss the light and one can end up waiting 5Read More minutes to get going again, and in some cases have to go through multiple cycles to get through the intersection. In our society of impatience, people start doing other things like texting and reading email, then continue to finish up what they are doing once the traffic moves again. I see that every morning that I drive to work.

All this is simply proof that the regions police departments are not doing their jobs. All policeRead More officers are responsible to traffic duty when on duty. Most have an attitude to justify not doing this responsibly. Yet the death toll and injury toll is rising in every region across the nation. The last year's death toll was over 43,000. With serious injury's in the hundreds of thousands! And Fairfax is no exception. Most police officers think that they are supposed to get paid overtime on what is called 'auxilary' traffic duty assignments on $overtime$. And the dispatch offices are in on it as well. They get thousands of calls daily with traffic complaints directly involving improper Motor Vehicle Operator driving in any given area thru out Fairfax and most go ignored. Yet someone will call in a redundant call by comparison and the patrolling officers on duty will respond to it instead of the thousands involving even reckless driving reports! Bottom line? It is such gross negligence it is simply criminal in and upon itself! Emails. Written letters. Phone call reports about same being received about Motor Vehicle Operator small and big infractions and what is being done about it? A patrol officer will be sent out to investigate a kitty cat being stuck in a tree instead by dispatch, backed up by the on duty officer of the shift? And what is the departments sworn duty and oat to office and position? "To Serve and Protect". And what major subject issue is killing and injuring people more than any other? The Motor Vehicle Operator.

That wasn't much "additional information." He said the truck driver wasn't speeding orRead More playing with his phone, but he didn't say anything about why she was apparently out in the street, not watching for cars.....or trucks.

It's a very narrow street. According to the initial reports the poor woman was leaning into her ownRead More minivan, either buckling or unbuckling her child in a car seat. Maybe the guy wasn't speeding or looking at his phone, but he was so close to the car the sliding door was caught on his truck.

Maybe the residents of Arlington County will realize their own county government has made theseRead More roads impossible to drive on at any speed. There are parking lanes, bicycle lanes, and sidewalk corners (the county calls them nubs) that protrude into intersections supposedly to slow down traffic. Then you have the walkers and the joggers to add to the mix. Common sense tells you only so many of these can fit on a road. The county government needs to get back to basics and stop this waste of money with their so-called improvements.
