The U.S. Nuclear Waste Technical Review Board is located just a few blocks from the Court House metro station. The NWTRB was created in 1987 to counsel Congress and the Secretary of Energy on issues surrounding management of nuclear waste. The goal of the NWTRB is to find a safe and permanent way to dispose of nuclear waste. It looks at what other countries are doing, conducts studies and looks to peer reviews for answers.
