Weekend Guide: Georgetown Concert, Arlington Arts Festival and More

The weekend is here, how are you going to spend it in Georgetown, Arlington and beyond?

1. Rocking the Green Concert
When/Where: 5 p.m. Sunday in Volta Park, 1555 34th St., NW, Washington.
Why Go: Listen to Georgetown's own singer and song writer Rebecca McCabe's acoustic, country and pop rhythms at this free outdoor concert. Bring a picnic and enjoy the first Sunday of the official summer season.
Price: Free. 

2. 
The Arlington Festival of the Arts
When/Where: 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday and Sunday on Highland Street in Clarendon.                                                
Why Go: Experience Clarendon as you've never seen it as it transforms into an outdoor art gallery featuring, "vibrant paintings, contemporary and whimsical art, life-size sculptures, photography, handcrafted jewelry and much more," according to the event notice.
Price: Free. 

3. 
Carnival on the Boardwalk
When/Where: 4 p.m. Sunday on Arlington's "boardwalk" at 3701 Lorcom Lane in Arlington.
Why Go: According to the event notice, "All proceeds benefit Hurricane Sandy relief. Join us for an evening on an Arlington 'boardwalk,' featuring fun boardwalk games, food, prizes, cakewalks, music, a silent auction, and more!"
Price: Varies based on game, food items.

4. 
Cathedral Choral Society's Cathedral Sings!
When/Where: 7:30 p.m. Sunday at the Washington National Cathedral, 3101 Wisconsin Ave. NW.
Why Go: Singers of all abilities are welcome to a sing-along, accompanied by organist Todd Fickley and Washington's oldest choral society, the Cathedral Choral Society.
Price: $10.

5. 
Movies on the Lawn - Wreck It Ralph
When/Where: Friday at dusk at at Cherrydale UMC, 3701 Lorcom Lane. Arlington.
Why Go: According to the event notice, "Join your neighbors for a family-friendly Friday night on the lawn at Cherrydale UMC. Movie starts just after dusk. Bring a blanket or lawn chair and enjoy some complimentary refreshments. Rain or shine (held indoors if the weather doesn't cooperate)."
Price: Free.
