Sophomore Kai Perkuchin and Senior Angela Liang defeated the No. 1 seed team from Stuart High School, Alex Cole and Ella DiPetto, in the finals of the National District Doubles Championships.
Perkuchin and Liang, seeded No. 2, bested the previously undefeated Stuart team 6-2, 7-6. On the way to the finals Liang and Perkuchin defeated teams from Edison, Stuart and Wakefield.
The Yorktown team now advances to the Northern Region Doubles competition, which begins Monday in McLean.
