Senior Olympics to Kick off Saturday

Opening ceremonies will take place at the Thomas Jefferson Community Center.

The Northern Virginia Senior Olympics is hosting its opening day ceremony this Saturday.

The event will include track events and exhibits. Forty events sponsored by the senior Olympics are scheduled from Sept. 15 through Sept. 26.

The first event is taking place at 9:45 a.m. on Saturday at the Thomas Jefferson Community Center at 3501 S. Second St. in Arlington.

Events throughout the month include badminton, volleyball, cycling, track and field, Wii bowling, Frisbee throw, softball hit and throw, football throw and Mexican Train dominos.
