82 Arlington Runners in Boston Marathon; Conditions Unknown Following Explosion

Two people were killed and more than 100 injured, according to the Boston Globe.

Explosions were reported just before 3 p.m. Monday at the finish line of the 117th Boston Marathon.

The Boston Athletic Association reports that 82 runners from Arlington participated in the race — 41 men and 42 women. It was not immediately clear whether any local runners were injured.

The race shut down as soon as security became a concern.
