Tuesday: Voters Decide Primary Battles for U.S. Senate, House

Republican primary to decide the party's Senate nominee; Democratic primary will determine the House candidate for November.

Voters on Tuesday will decide two congressional primaries that will determine who appears on the November ballot, sure to get plenty of attention thanks to Virginia's status as a battleground for the U.S. presidency.

Voters who choose to cast ballots in the Democratic primary on Tuesday will determine whether incumbent U.S. Rep. , a Democrat, moves one step closer to a 12th term.

Political newcomer is challenging Moran in the Democratic primary. The winner will face Republican Patrick Murray in November.

People who elect to vote in Tuesday's Republican primary will have a say in one of the hottest Senate races in the country.

That four-way contest — between Ex-Sen. , tea party leader , state Del. and Chesapeake pastor — will determine who goes up against Democrat Tim Kaine in November. Allen is favored to win, though tea party voters could pull the rug out from under him.
