The average weekday in April saw slightly more than 771,000 trips taken on Metro, according to the most recent data available.
That's about a 3.9 percent decrease from the number of weekday riders in April 2010.
Metro officials say the reduction has been, in part, caused by the economy. Notably fewer people have traveled to sporting and special events on Metro so far this year.
