July Fourth Weekend Metro Delays, Track Work

Track work this weekend will effect the Blue and Orange lines.

Metro track work this holiday weekend will effect the Blue and Orange lines only.

Two Orange Line stations will be closed. All Blue Line stations will be open. 

Red, Yellow and Green line trains will operate on a regular weekend schedule.

According to Metro news release:

Orange Line

From 10 p.m. Friday through closing Sunday, buses will replace trains between Stadium-Armory & Cheverly stations.

Orange Line trains will operate as follows:

  • Between Vienna & Stadium-Armory: Every 15 minutes throughout the weekend. (Normal service is every 12 minutes.)
  • Between New Carrollton & Cheverly: Every 15 minutes throughout the weekend. (Normal service is every 12 minutes.)
Free shuttle buses will replace Orange Line trains between Stadium-Armory and Cheverly to allow for ongoing platform reconstruction at Deanwood and Minnesota Avenue stations.

Deanwood and Minnesota Avenue

Blue Line

From 10 p.m. Friday through closing Sunday, buses will replace trains between Stadium-Armory and Benning Road.

Blue Line trains will operate as follows:
  • Between Franconia-Springfield & Stadium-Armory: Every 15 minutes throughout the weekend. (Normal service is every 12 minutes.)
  • Between Largo Town Center & Benning Road: Every 15 minutes throughout the weekend. (Normal service is every 12 minutes.)
Free shuttle buses will replace Blue Line trains between Stadium-Armory and Benning Road stations to allow for ongoing platform reconstruction and other maintenance.
