A woman returning to her Rosslyn apartment complex on Sunday was grabbed from behind while a second man kept watch, according to the Arlington County Police Department.
The victim was walking just after 3 a.m. to her apartment in the 1800 block of North Quinn Street, according to police. Police said that the woman had noticed two men walking behind her.
Police said one of the men followed the woman inside the complex, where he grabbed her. The woman struggled to break free and scream, but the man put his hand over her mouth. A second man stood outside of the apartment complex while this happened, police said.
Authorities said that the woman eventually broke free and the men ran away. Some money appeared to be missing, but police said it wasn’t clear if the attacker had taken the money.
The suspect who attacked the woman was about 5 feet, 5 inches, heavy set, and wore a dark hooded sweatshirt and pants, according to police.
