Post: Police Taser Cafeteria Manager at Arlington School

Barcroft school employee sent for psych evaluation after incident.

An Arlington County police officer "Tasered" a cafeteria worker last week at Barcroft Elementary School, according to a report in Wednesday's Washington Post.

The incident took place apparently after the employee had some sort of altercation with an administrator, according to the Post report.

The taser incident happened at about 11:15 a.m. Thursday, after the administrator called police, reporting threatening behavior by the employee.

The worker, a woman, reportedly told police that she had a gun, and when she reached inside a bag, one officer jolted her with a Taser.

Officers did not find a gun but did find a knife in the bag, he said.

The employee was removed from the school and the school is not pressing charges. She was taking to a local hospital for a psychological evaluation.

Students reportedly did not witness the incident. The school went into temporary "lock down" mode but it was lifted "within minutes" a spokeswoman told the Post.
