Crime Report: Woman, 28, Admits to Burglary, Police Say

Burglary

A 28-year-old woman confessed to entering a home and stealing various items, according to the Arlington County Police Department.

Kimberly Marie Vest, of Woodbridge, has been charged with breaking and entering. She is being held on a $2,500 unsecured bond.

Items were stolen on March 1 or 2 from a home in the 4400 block of South 31st Street. Several days after the items were taken, Vest admitted to the victim that she had broken into his home and stolen the belongings, police report. The stolen property was found in her car’s trunk, according to police.

A woman walking from the Ballston Metro had her iPhone stolen this week.

The woman was walking at 6:10 p.m. Tuesday in the 900 block of North Stuart Street when a teenage boy asked her a question, according to police. When she took her headphones out of her ears to hear him, a second teenage boy grabbed her phone and ran.

Both boys were about 14 to 16 years old, the victim told police. The boy who took the phone was 5 foot, 3 inches tall and wore a black and grey sweatshirt and jeans. The second boy was about 5 foot, 10 inches and wore a dark-colored sweatshirt with a red stripe.

Burglary

A would-be burglar entered a home through an unlocked door and fled when he saw a resident inside, according to police. The incident took place at 10 p.m. Monday in the 2700 block of South Arlington Ridge Road.

Burglary

Several items were stolen from a purse sometime between 8 and 11:26 p.m. on March 6 from a home in the 1500 block of South Fern Street.
