Update: Police Release Bank Robbery Suspect Description

Monday heist unrelated to other two June bank robberies in Arlington County.

The Arlington County Police Department today released a few details about .

An unidentified man entered the bank at about 3:30 p.m., pulled out a handgun and demanded money, according to a police statement. After receiving an undisclosed amount of cash, he fled on foot.

Arlington police have a policy against releasing the amount of money taken in bank robberies.

The robber is described as a black man in his late 20s, about 5 feet, 10 inches tall and weighing 160 pounds. During the incident, he wore a black hooded sweatshirt with silver writing on the front, black pants and a mask over most of his face, according to the police statement.

He also carried a dark bag.

Investigators and bank officials so far have been unable to recover any security video images of the man, Detective Crystal Nosal said.

Because of the man's mask, Nosal said she wasn't sure how much help those images would be.
