Police: Man Pulls Gun on Group Who Hit His Car with a Ball

The following information was released by the Arlington County Police Department.

Malicious Wounding

A man pulled a gun on a group who had accidently struck his car with a ball, according to the Arlington County Police Department. 

It took place at about 3 a.m. on Saturday in the 3300 block of North Wilson Boulevard.

According to police, three friends walking home from a bar were throwing a ball between them when the ball struck a moving car. The driver pulled over, took out a gun, and struck one of them in the cheek with the firearm, police report.

The driver fled the area, and the victim was taken to a hospital, where he was treated for minor injuries, police report. The driver is about 5 foot 10, has a mustache and a thin build, according to police.

Peeping Tom

A woman reported seeing a man looking through her living room window, according to police.

The incident was reported at 10:42 p.m. on Tuesday on the 4400 block of South 31st Street, police report. The man was caught looking into the window a few days before. He is described as about 5 foot 3 inches and wore a red baseball cap, police report.

Robbery

Four cartons of cigarettes were reported stolen from a store, police report.

The items were taken at 11:38 a.m. on March 20, when a man entered the store in the 2900 block of South Glebe Road. The man was about 5 foot 5 inches tall, 140 pounds and wore a green Miami Dolphins jacket, black sunglasses, black pants and a black baseball cap, according to police.

Robbery

A person apparently impersonating an employee entered a grocery store and stole cigarettes, according to police.

The man wearing a Giant employee uniform went into the store at 9 a.m. on March 24 in the 2900 block of South Glebe Road. He went behind the counter to get cigarettes, according to police.

Another employee, who did not recognize the man, approached him and asked if he worked there. The man implied he had a gun and fled the store with the four cartons of cigarettes, police report.

The man was described as about 5 foot 10 inches and 180 pounds.

Burglary

A computer, jewelry and cash were among the items reported stolen from a residence, police report.

The items were taken sometime between 8:35 a.m. and 1:15 p.m. on March 21 from a home in the 800 block of North Arlington Mill Drive, according to police.

Burglary

A television was reported stolen on March 23 in the 2200 block of South Pollard Street, according to police.
