Police: Man Charged With Strangulation After Stranger Made Comments About Girlfriend

The incident was reported in Arlington's Courthouse community.

A Stone Ridge, Va., man was arrested this weekend after allegedly attacking someone who made "inappropriate comments" about his girlfriend, according to the Arlington County Police Department.

The incident occurred at about 1:47 p.m. Saturday in the 2100 block of North 15th Street, in the heart of the Courthouse community and practically next door to the police department.

Police say 50-year-old David Hoffman Jr. was arrested and charged after he assaulted the man who made the comments.

Hoffman was charged with malicious wounding and strangulation, according to police. He was held without bond.
