Police Look for Peeping Tom in South Arlington

Neighbor spotted man looking in window Sunday night.

Arlington County police are investigating a peeping Tom reported this weekend in the Long Brach Creek community.

At about 11:57 p.m. Sunday, a woman was walking a guest to her vehicle in the 2700 block of South Veitch Street.

At the time, an unidentified man was behind some nearby bushes looking into a female neighbor's apartment window, according to police.

The man heard the neighbor and her guest talking, which startled him, police spokesman Dustin Sternbeck said Wednesday.

The man turned, and that's when the neighbor saw him. He ran away.

It's unclear if the man knew the woman beforehand or targeted her, Sternbeck said.

Police had a report of a similar incident at the same apartment complex in January, Sternbeck said.

The suspect is described as a Hispanic man in his mid-20s, about 5 feet, 9 inches tall and weighing about 200 pounds. He was wearing a dark blue jacket, dark-colored cargo pants and a black beanie.

Anyone with information on this incident can call the Arlington County Police Department at 703-558-2222.
