Police Investigated Bomb Threat at WJLA; No Bombs Found

An Arlington Police Department spokeswoman said police have confirmed there is no bomb at WJLA.

Update 1:15 p.m.

Arlington Police Department spokeswoman Crystal Nosal said police have checked the floors of the building at 1100 Wilson Blvd. and have concluded that an alleged bomb scare was a false alarm.

Police are preparing to leave the scene, she said.

Arlington Police Department spokeswoman Crystal Nosal said police had been dispatched to the WJLA television studios at 1100 Wilson Blvd. to investigate a bomb threat.

She could not confirm if an actual bomb had been located on premises and could not offer any more details except that she had heard the building had been evacuated before police arrived. Reports on Twitter have offered a conflicting report that the building has not been evacuated.

@amandahess wrote shortly after 1 p.m., "the building is definitely not evacuated. @dmbosstone replied to the same tweet, writing, "Word- I'm still here."

An employee at China Garden, a restaurant also located at 1100 Wilson Blvd., said the restaurant had not heard of the threat.

Shortly before 1 p.m., a telephone operator at ABC 7 News said she was unable to comment on the alleged threat and that no one else was available to comment, either.
