Police: Friday-Night Shooting was Botched Armed Robbery Attempt

Victim expected to fully recover.

A was the result of a botched armed robbery attempt, according to information police released today.

The suspect approached the victim and demanded money, according to police. He didn't comply, and was shot.

The suspect is described as about 5 feet, 8 inches tall,  and was dressed in all black and wearing a ski mask at the time of the shooting.

The victim, who suffered gunshot wounds to his abdomen and upper right leg, is now in stable condition and is expected to make a full recovery, police spokesman Dustin Sternbeck said.

"Detectives are diligently working with him and trying to get a better description and piecing this together, because it's a very general description," Sternbeck said. "He's been cooperating."

Nothing was taken from the victim, Sternbeck said.

His identity has not been released.
