“This was an isolated incident and there was no danger to the campus community, so we were never on lockdown,” said Laurie Callahan, a spokeswoman for the university.

Students who signed up for emergency text alerts did, however, get a text message about the incident from the school, Callahan said.

Not much is known about what prompted the incident which occurred at about 10 p.m., but Callahan said the students had an “altercation.”

The two men were not roommates, but they lived in the same dorm, according to police.
