Crime Report: Men Break Into Apartment with Two Inside

Impersonating an officer

Three men forced their way into an apartment with a crowbar while residents were still inside.

At 11:20 p.m. Jan. 31, the men broke in to the apartment in the 4300 block of South Columbia Pike, according to police. Two victims were inside their bedroom when the suspects entered the apartment. One of the men threatened the victims with a crowbar and ordered them into a bathroom.

The men searched the bedrooms. At one point, one of them identified himself as a police officer. Eventually, they left and didn’t appear to take anything with them, according to police.

One of the suspects was described as 6 foot, 2 inches, 210 pounds and wearing a gray hoodie, black vest, green pants and black boots. The second  and third men were described as between 5-foot-7 and 5-foot-10-inches tall, and wearing all black snow gear.

Armed Robbery

Thre men have been charged with robbery following an incident in the 500 block of North Pollard Street, according to the Arlington County Police Department.

Officers came upon several men as they were robbing another man, according to police.

It was shortly before 12:30 a.m. Wednesday. One of the robbers brandished a handgun and demanded money. Another robber punched the victim until he fell to the ground. Two men took the victim’s wallet and cell phone.

When they tried to drive away, police say they stopped them and took them into custody. Oscar Alfredo Morant Nunez, 32, of Fairfax, Christopher Louise Songer, 19, of Woodbridge, and Elder Ramirez-Miranda, 18, of Vienna, were arrested and charged with robbery.

Robbery

A man walking to the Metro was approached by two men, one of whom threatened him, according to Arlington police.

The victim was walking at about 9 p.m. Monday along the 1800 block of North Fort Meyer Drive when someone grabbed him, police said. The man threatened him, but the victim broke free and ran away.

Police said the person who grabbed him was between 16 and 18 years old and wore a black ski mask and dark pants. There was no description for the second man.

Burglary

An apartment was broken into sometime between 8:30 p.m. Saturday and 3:37 a.m. Sunday in the 4300 block of Columbia Pike. The apartment was ransacked and several items were taken, according to police.

Attempted burglary

A lock stopped burglars from breaking into a home, according to police.

Sometime between 8 p.m. Monday and 6 a.m. Wednesday, someone tried to force their way into a home in the 700 block of North Vermont Street. The lock on the front door was damaged, but the burglar could not make their way into the home.
