Crime Report: Peeping Tom Reported Outside Arlington Home

The following incidents were reported to the Arlington County Police Department.

The following information was released by the Arlington County Police Department.

Peeping Tom

A peeping Tom was reported outside a woman’s bedroom window, according to police reports.

The woman told police that at about 1:44 a.m. on March 16 at her home in the 2400 block of South Walter Reed Drive, she heard someone trying to get into her bedroom. She told police that she saw a silhouette outside the window.

Police did not see any signs of tampering at the window.

Malicious Wounding

Two men got into a verbal argument that left one of them with a fractured cheek.

According to police, the two got into an argument at 10 p.m. on March 17 in the 4200 block of North Pershing Drive. Delonte Robert Peters, 20, struck the other man's face with the back of his hand, according to police.

Peters fled but returned to the victim’s home the next day. He was arrested by police after he tried to escape again, according to police. Peters, who has no fixed address, is being held without bond.

According to police, the victim’s cheek was fractured in two places.

Attempted Breaking and Entering

An intoxicated 32-year-old man tried to force his way into his neighbor’s apartment, according to police.

Michael Edward Lydon II, 32, of Arlington, tried to enter the apartment at 2:16 a.m. on March 16 in the 2200 block of South Columbia Pike, according to police.

Lydon was charged with attempted breaking and entering and unlawful entry.

Robbery

A cab driver snatched a woman’s purse when she tried to pay her fare and then drove away, according to police. The incident took place at 1:28 a.m. on March 15 in he 5200 block of North First Street.

Burglary

Someone was seen trying to break into an apartment building at 11:05 p.m. on March 18 in the 1500 block of North 12th Street, according to police. A resident saw the man trying to break in, and the would-be burglar fled, police reported. The man trying to break in was about 6 feet, 2 inches tall and was carrying what looked to be a crowbar.

Burglary

Someone broke into a vacant home between 7 a.m. on March 15 and 11:24 a.m. on March 18, according to police. The home, in the 1300 block of South 19th Street, had filled with natural gas because someone had left the kitchen’s gas line on, police report.

Burglary

Cash and a Playstation Vita were taken from a home sometime between 10:50 a.m. and 6:50 p.m. on March 15 in the 2000 block of South Quincy Street, according to police.

A laptop and tablet computer were taken from a home on March 14 in the 1100 block of North Stafford Street, police report.
