Crime Report: Burglar Eats Meal, Showers During Break-In — And More

The following information was supplied by the Arlington County Police Department.

Burglary

A thief showered and ate food at the home he burglarized, according to police.

Sometime between 3 a.m. Dec. 21 and 10 p.m. Dec. 29, the burglar entered the home in the 800 block of South 22nd Street, police report. The burglar is believed to have broken into the same home on New Year's Eve. No suspect description is available.

Malicious Wounding

A fight on a Clarendon sidewalk ended with a man getting a deep cut to his head, according to police.

The fight broke out between two men at 12:30 a.m. New Year's Day along the 3000 block of North Wilson Boulevard, according to police. One of the men punched the other man in the face, and the victim fell into a parked car and hit his head on the car’s passenger side mirror.

The victim was taken to a hospital for treatment. The attacker ran away, but he was said to be between 20 and 25 years old, about 5-feet, 10-inches tall, with brown hair and brown eyes. He wore a dark suit, blue shirt and dark tie at the time of the incident.

Malicious Wounding

A 29-year-old man struck another person in the face with a glass during a dispute inside a Clarendon bar, according to police.

The argument took place at a bar at 12:05 a.m. Sunday in the 2800 block of North Wilson Boulevard, police report. The victim had cuts to his face and was taken to a hospital for treatment.

Joseph A. Mayberry, 29, of Arlington, was charged with malicious wounding. He was held without bond.

Armed Robbery

A man and woman robbed another person at gunpoint, according to the Arlington County Police Department.

The incident took place at 1:40 a.m. Saturday in the 1900 block of North Nash Street, according to police. The robbers took all of the victim’s personal items before running away.

One robber was described as a man about 5-feet, 11-inches tall, weighing about 160 pounds, with shoulder-length dreadlocks and a ski hat. The second robber was a woman with shoulder-length black hair, about 5-feet, 3-inches tall and about 130 pounds, police report. 

Robbery

A boy had his iPhone 4 stolen by four men while walking with a friend, according to police. 

The boy was walking between 4:53 p.m. and 5:15 p.m. Sunday along the 700 block of North Glebe Road when one of the robbers displayed a gun and took the phone, according to police. The suspects are in their late teens and were wearing dark clothing.

Robbery

Three men surrounded a family in a threatening manner as the family walked out of a store in the Fashion Centre at Pentagon City, according to police.

One of the men stole a hat from the group, police report. One of the family members was able to get it back after chasing after the men.

Michael Lawrence Burge, 22, of Suitland, Md., and Miles Jay Minson, 20, of Temple Hills, Md., were arrested and charged with robbery and conspiracy in the Saturday incident.

Minson was also cited for failure to give identification to a law enforcement officer, and Burge was cited for contributing to the delinquency of a minor. The third suspect was a minor. Charges against him for robbery and conspiracy are pending, according to police.

Robbery

Two men and a woman stole a Droid HTC EVO 3D cell phone, according to police.

The robbery occurred between 9:44 p.m. and 9:48 p.m. Friday in  the 2400 block of South Lowell Street, police report. The victim told police that the robbers had assault riffles and wore black ski masks.
