Arlington Woman, 27, Charged in Domestic Violence Call

Police: Woman hit man she lives with in the face with an iron.

A 27-year-old Arlington woman has been charged with malicious wounding following a domestic violence incident in the Colonial Village neighborhood, according to the Arlington County Police Department.

Jeannae Johnson was arrested Sunday in the 2100 block of North Key Boulevard. She is accused of hitting a man in the face with an iron after a verbal argument, according to information police released today.

The blow caused a "pretty deep laceration between the eyebrow and right eye" of the man, police spokesman Dustin Sternbeck said.

The man and the woman live together, though the police report does not indicate what their relationship is, Sternbeck said. It's unclear what they were arguing over.

Police found no indication that the woman was acting in self-defense, Sternbeck said.

"In this case, she was the aggressor, and that's why she's been charged," he said.

Johnson is being held without bond.
