Arlington Motorcycle Officer Injured in Crash

Spokeswoman: Officer sustained non-life-threatening injuries.

An on-duty Arlington County Police officer was involved in a non-fatal motorcycle crash shortly before 1 p.m. today.

The officer was taken to an area hospital following the collision at U.S. 50 and North Garfield Street, said Detective Crystal Nosal.

The officer sustained non-life-threatening injuries, Nosal said.

She would not identify the officer or the hospital he was taken to.

As of 2:30 p.m., it wasn't clear if any other vehicles were involved in the wreck or if anyone else was injured.

Arlington police will investigate the matter themselves, Nosal said, rather than turn it over to another agency.
