Arlington Man Charged in August Stabbing

Authorities have charged Elin Daniel Reyes in the Aug. 9 stabbing in Clarendon.

A 28-year-old man has been charged with stabbing a man outside a Clarendon restaurant in August.

Elin Daniel Reyes, of Arlington, was charged with malicious wounding and robbery.

According to authorities, incident occurred at about 1:38 p.m. on Aug 9. Police say a 31-year-old man looked outside his office window to find someone breaking into his car.

The car was parked in front of the Pio Pio restaurant at 3300 Wilson Blvd., near the 10th Street intersection.

The owner confronted the would-be car thief, who authorities now believe was Reyes. Words were exchanged, and the suspect ran across Wilson Boulevard. The car's owner chased him. A fight ensued, and at some point the suspect pulled out a knife.

The victim suffered stab wounds to his hands, arms, shoulder, front and back, police spokesman Dustin Sternbeck said.

Authorities said Reyes has been in the custody of the Arlington County Detention Facility since October 18 for a probation violation. He will be arraigned on these additional charges later this week.
