Nation’s Capital Pi Beta Phi Alumnae Club Celebrates Dr. Seuss’s Birthday with Fraternity Day of Service “Read. Lead. Achieve.”
(Washington, DC) February 19, 2013—Nation’s Capital Alumnae Club will host a public reading event on February 23, 2013 at 9:30am at the Barnes & Noble - Clarendon Market Commons, in Arlington, Virginia.
This annual Fraternity-wide event promotes Pi Beta Phi’s effort to advance literacy. In the “Read. Lead. Achieve.” campaign, Pi Phi is hoping to raise awareness concerning the illiteracy rate in this country, while also raising money for books to give to children in need. Nation’s Capital Alumnae Club invites the community to come out and decorate book plates and enjoy a special story-time reading with the Cat in the Hat! For more information concerning "Read. Lead.
