Real Estate Prices Rise in April
April 2011 real estate market insights and statistics for the Clarendon-Courthouse-Rosslyn area.
The orange line real estate market from Clarendon to Rosslyn is marked by many new construction sales, such as Rhodes Hill Square and Turnberry Tower, and they've helped prices continue to increase in the area.
Overall, the 22201 zip code, which covers Clarendon and Courthouse, saw a 23.92 percent increase in average sale price last month and a drop in days on the market to just 34 over April 2010. The Rosslyn area, 22209, saw a decline in average price by 31 percent because most of the high-end sales at Turnberry Tower are now completed and won't be impacting the averages this year like they did in 2010.
Rosslyn did, however, also see a decline in days on the market by 3 days to 55. Another important observation, of the 49 sales in this area (not including River Place), not a single one was a short sale or a foreclosure.
