Kicking off the Summer....with Finals?

Screen on the Green 2011!

It's 60 degrees (which just might as well be 3o to me) pouring rain, and I'm studying for finals. Oh yeah, and I'm in Williamsburg. This is not funny, life. Meanwhile, the last think I'm thinking about is Natural Psychology 202 because I actually cannot wait for the Rosslyn Screen on the Green Film Festival! Every Friday night starting roughly at 8:00pm just two blocks from the Metro there will be a big screen outdoor showing. This year's theme is "SNL in the Movies," meaning every movie will star an actor featured on SNL. Hilarity in a nutshell.

Things to Be Aware Of:

1. Parking is $3, which to me is actually pointless because I'd most likely be paying $3 plus a couple hundred to damage my car and someone else's. (Is parking even on the drivers license test? Because I still can't do it...kind of a problem.) So basically what I'm telling you is to take the metro. Save yourself the headache and paint scratches.

2. Also, bring a blanket. No one has ever been in an outdoor setting and said "Well, I'm really glad I didn't bring that blanket to sit on, I love grass rash!"

3. I'm incapable of watching a movie without stuffing my face. Bring snacks and skip the impromptu McDonalds run. It'll be crowded and greasy, I promise.

4. Bring friends! These shenanigans are FREE! Need I say more?

5. The first one was April 29 (Groundhog Day starring Bill Murray) and will continue every Friday until August 26. Don't let the time slip away from you, it's absolutely worth trying at least once.

And there ends this session of procrastination. I'm venturing back out to into the colonial tundra to hole up in some empty cave of a basement classroom and glare menacingly at anyone who tries to come in. Plan? Plan.

Check back in a bit (once I'm home sweet home) for more sweet reviews of all that is exciting in Clarendon!

Xs and Os,

Justine
