In our efforts to spread awareness about Fibromyalgia, Empower Me Pretty Inc. will be hosting its “Rock the Purple” Fibromyalgia Awareness Benefit Performance and Fashion Show on Saturday, November 2nd, 2013 at James Lee Community Center Theater, located at 2855 Annandale Road, Falls Church, Va. 22042; Doors open at 5:00pm, show starts at 6:00pm. The cost for tickets is $10 in advance and $15 at the door. A portion of the proceeds will be donated to the Venetta Kent Foundation and the Fibromyalgia Awareness Foundation. The event will feature performances from multiple genres and age groups, the latest fashion trends, men and women fashion consultants, demos, raffles, and door prizes.
Fibromyalgia affects an estimated 5.8 million Americans. Fibromyalgia is a common syndrome in which a person has long-term, body-wide pain and tenderness in the joints, muscles, tendons, and other soft tissues. Fibromyalgia symptoms include chronic pain in the muscles, fatigue, sleep problems, and painful tender points or trigger points at certain parts of the body. Fibromyalgia pain and other symptoms can be relieved through medications, lifestyle changes, stress management, and other fibromyalgia treatment.
