'Operation Homefront' Hosts Walk at Arlington National Cemetery

The walk takes place this Sunday.

Operation Homefront DC Metro, which provides emergency financial and other assistance to the families of service members, is hosting Freedom Walk 2012 this Sunday at Arlington National Cemetery.

“The walk is an opportunity for community members to walk alongside service members, veterans and their families to commemorate the events of 9/11,” according to a news release from the organization.

The 2.2-mile walk takes participants through the cemetery and to the Pentagon Memorial.

The walk takes place from 8 a.m. to noon on Sunday beginning at the visitor’s center at Arlington National Cemetery. To register for the walk, visit Operation Homefront's website.
