Rewind: Arlington Salaries, Streetcar Debate and More

What They Earn: Arlington County Salary Database — This week, your Arlington County Patch sites received and published data on what all Arlington County full-time and part-time employees earn. Salaries are a significant part of Arlington County’s annual operating budget, which is up for debate now. (See: Arlington Budget Hearing: 'Let's Not Fairfax Arlington.')

In other Arlington news, police said a man attacked an acquaintance after waking up one morning to find the acquaintance reportedly drew genitalia on the man’s face…in permanent marker.

Alexandria: Major construction is beginning at the Exchange at Potomac Yard. Of course, those construction noises may actually be drowned out by something louder—the return of the 17-year cicadas, expected in May.

In other construction news, Landmark Mall part-owner Howard Hughes Corp. is proposing demolishing the entire middle section of the mall (everything except Sears and Macy’s) and redeveloping the area.

Falls Church: In other development news, the Falls Church City Council is moving forward with plans for a new Harris Teeter in the area.
