Looking to avoid Hurricane Irene this weekend? Here are a few indoor ideas.

With a hurricane headed our way, it looks like this is going to be an indoor activity weekend. Here are a few ideas to keep you entertained - and dry.

Why Go: When the wind and the rain come a knockin'...head to a barbeque? As long as it's indoors, why not? Representatives from the Boston Beer Co. will be sampling a variety of their popular summertime brews, including Boston Lager, Sam Summer and Cherry Wheat, and handing out grilled food, to boot.

Where/When: , 2832 Wilson Blvd., Arlington. Live shows on Friday, Saturday and Sunday evenings.

Why Go: If you're starting to feel a little cooped up (or your power goes out) make plans to catch a live show this weekend at IOTA in Clarendon. will rock the house with Red Wanting Blue on Friday and Saturday nights. will be performing on Sunday.

Pricing: This weekend, ticket prices range from $12 to $16, depending on the show.

Where/When: Gulf Branch Nature Center, 3608 Military Rd., Arlington. Saturday, 6:30 p.m. to 9 p.m.

Why Go: We're not talking baseball bats here. This is a bat fest - as in those creepy, winged flying rats. You can expect live bats at the bat fest, as well bat games, bat crafts and a bat hike. We're not making this up, folks.

Pricing: $7

Where/When: Ras Cafe, 4809 Georgia Ave. NW, Washington. Friday, 8 p.m. to 1 a.m.

Why Go: If you're in the mood to sing (and dance) in the rain, make plans to dance the night away for a good cause. Thirty percent of sales from the event will go to Common Good City Farm.

Pricing: Suggested $5 donation.

5. Morehouse College Presents A Memorial Concert Tribute to Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.

Where/When: The Kennedy Center, 2700 F St. NW, Washington. Sunday, 7:30 p.m.

Why Go: It may be too stormy to visit the brand-new Martin Luther King, Jr. Memorial this weekend, but you can pay tribute to the legendary man all the same - inside the comfort of The Kennedy Center. Notable Morehouse College alums will be participating in the event, including Samuel L. Jackson.

Pricing: Tickets are $100.
