  • Why Go: According to the event listing, "Come learn heritage techniques of working with wool from the Second Sunday Spinners. These knowledgeable women will demonstrate skills like spinning yarn, carding, combing, felting, Navajo spindling, and knitting. Live animals like sheep and rabbits will be on hand to help children understand the process of creating fibers from start to finish."

  • Why Go: According to the event listing, "In celebration of Make a Difference Day, a nationwide community service event, Arlington’s Community Volunteer Network (CVN) will be helping to host a Fall Festival at Arlinton Traditional Elementary School. Volunteers will be working to enhance the schoolyard garden and offering fun outdoor games and fall crafts for kids and families.Come out and run in a sack race, decorate a gourd to take home, and join in an autumn flight activity. Then enjoy some pumpkin pie and apple cider in the beautiful fall weather."

4. "Les Miserables"

  • Why Go: According to the Kennedy Center's website, "Cameron Mackintosh presents a new 25th anniversary production of Boublil and Schönberg's legendary musical, Les Misérables, featuring glorious new staging and spectacular reimagined scenery inspired by the paintings of Victor Hugo."
  • Pricing: Tickets range in price from $39 to $155.

5. Wine Night at the Movies
