Police: Peeping Tom Reported at Ballston Common Mall

Investigators are looking into whether case is related to May incident in Clarendon.

Arlington police are investigating a reported peeping Tom at Ballston Common Mall.

Shortly before 6 p.m. Monday, a woman was in a bathroom stall in a restaurant in the mall. She looked down to see the man, verbally confronted him and he ran away, police spokesman Dustin Sternbeck said.

The man was said to be in his early 40s, about 5 feet, 7 inches tall with a medium build. He had shaggy brown hair and was wearing a brown T-shirt and khaki pants, according to police.

That description is similar to one given of a peeping Tom at the Barnes & Noble in Clarendon in May.

"We're looking into the possibility of whether this is the same person," Sternbeck said. "That's part of the investigation."
