Food Drive for the Arlington Food Assistance Center

September is Hunger Action Month and as part of the 9/11 Day of Service and Remembrance, 5 area Safeway grocery stores are having Food Drives that benefit the Arlington Food Assistance Center (AFAC).

AFAC serves approximately 1,600 Arlington families each week that are in need of a little extra food assistance. 65% of what we give out is donated to us. Please help us re-stock our shelves by helping collecting donations during this food drive.

The Safeway in Rosslyn (1525 Wilson Blvd) is in need of volunteers from 10am-4pm on Sept 8th, 9th, 10th and 11th. Consider volunteering with your friends, family or coworkers’ one of those days. To sign-up, please visit http://www.afac.org/get_involved/urgent.php or email danielle.rampton@afac.org.
