The EPIC Smokehouse in Crystal City is hosting a fundraiser Monday evening to help raise money for a first responders tribute at the fire station that served as the staging area on 9/11.

At 6 p.m., firefighter Derek Spector will serve as guest bartender at the restaurant on South Fern Street. One dollar from every sale of the Bacon Bourbon Old Fashion or Blackberry Lemonade cocktails or the Port City Brewing Co. Monumental IPA will be donated to the fund. Boots will be set up on the bar to collect additional donations.

The money will be used to help create a first responders tribute at Arlington County Fire Station No. 5 on South Hayes Street.

"It was something that Epic Smokehouse was interested in doing. And we just happened to connect with the fire department at the right time," said Megan Roberson, a publicist working with the restaurant.
