Best of Patch: Liberty Tavern Wins Inaugural Contest

Readers pick Clarendon eatery as best 'distinctly Arlington' restaurant to take out-of-town guests.

And so did Clarendon Patch readers in contest. Readers were asked to pick the best "distinctly Arlington" restaurant they'd choose to take family and friends from out-of-town.

The Liberty Tavern won 53 percent of the vote, pulling ahead by a substantial margin in the final days of the week-long contest.

placed second with a respectable 15 percent of the vote, and came in third with 8 percent.

In Ballston, readers chose as the best place to celebrate. In Georgetown, readers chose the as having the best cocktails. in Del Ray won the best Italian restaurant in Alexandria. And the won the best breakfast menu in Falls Church.
