Inspiring Cultural Unity and World Peace Film Premiere

MAG (Mines Advisory Group) America is partnering with Race Man Tell-A-Pictures to host an evening of “Inspiring Cultural Unity and World Peace” on September 29, 2012. This event will highlight the culture and people of Laos with the help of the Lao Heritage Foundation. MAG America works in 15 developing countries across the globe, including the most bomb country in world history, Laos, to remove dangerous landmines and weapons that pose a threat to recovery and economic development.

The ubiquity of these threatening items completely cuts off access to clean water, safe land for farming, and cleared space for schools and hospitals. At this event in September, MAG will screen its new film, Surviving the Peace. The film tells the story of a Laotian family dealing with unexploded ordnance – right in their backyard.

In addition, a screening of the award-winning short film, “The New ‘N’ Word” by Race Man Tell-A-Pictures will help us further address cultural unity and foster understanding among the most important race, the human race. This is the first film by a non-Laotian to feature traditional Lao music.
