Crystal City Exhibit 'Takes a Walk on the Wild Side'

The exhibit benefits the Animal Welfare League of Arlington and Gallery Underground.

Take a "Walk on the Wild Side" starting this week in an art exhibit at Crystal City’s Art Undergound.

“For this juried show, artists are encouraged to explore the creative influence of the furred, feathered and finned creatures of our world,” according to a description of the show from the Crystal City Business Improvement District.

The exhibit benefits two nonprofits, Gallery Underground and the Arlington Animal Welfare League.

Crystal City’s Gallery Underground is organized by the Arlington Artists Alliance, which promotes the arts in the county. The Arlington Animal Welfare League is a shelter for stray or neglected animals.

An opening reception will be hosted for the exhibit from 5 to 8 p.m. on Friday at the gallery, at 2100 Crystal Drive.

The exhibit opened to the public starting Monday and will last through May 4. Hours are 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Friday and from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday.
